Norman Richards, BArch, BES, BDAQ

Norman Richards designs buildings and interiors remarkable for their elegant form, comfort and low environmental impact.

In 1988 he received a Bachelor of Architecture and a Bachelor of Environmental Studies from The University of Waterloo in Ontario, Canada and opened his own design/build practice in Toronto in 1987.

In 1999 he moved to London where he worked for clients such as the 2002 Commonwealth Games, Habitat and Bentley Motors.

In 2004 he moved to Maleny and established Norman Richards building design + interiors. Recent projects undertaken in Queensland include the Mary Cairncross Scenic Reserve (in collaboration with Guymer Bailey Architects), the Maleny Community Centre Refurbishment, Maleny Indoor Activity Centre “Waroo” hall, Glass on Glasshouse and numerous residential projects.

Norman Richards has won a collection of National, State and Regional building design and architecture awards as well as many prestigious international design awards including the Royal Architectural Institute of Canada Medal and the City of Toronto Urban Design Award.

 

Fiona Briody

Fiona Briody studied Environmental Engineering at RMIT University in Melbourne. In 1999 she moved to London and worked in several industries including architecture, publishing and software development. Fiona worked as a Software Configuration Manager for Barclays Private Bank before moving to Maleny in 2004.

In 2006 Fiona studied Building Design and commenced working on projects with Norman. Recent projects Fiona has worked on in Queensland include the Mary Cairncross Scenic Reserve (designed in collaboration with Guymer Bailey Architects), Glass on Glasshouse and numerous residential projects.

Fiona has a passion for sustainable, equitable design and believes that good design should be experienced by as many people as possible to enhance wellbeing and community cohesion.
